The Battle for Hamburger Hill board game

The Battle for Hamburger Hill is a hex wargame project from Cadet Games, listed for two players by Analog.Games, about Operation Apache Snow, 10–20 May 1969. It is not the 2026 first-person shooter, and it is not a box you can assume is in shops. Cadet Games says the design is complete, the crowdfunding has not succeeded, and every photograph so far is a prototype.

I read the Cadet Games page and the Analog.Games entry, and I used the Players’ Aid interview for the 2025 fundraising status. BoardGameGeek and Gamefound both stopped me at a browser check, so I am not pretending I read their live fields. Player count, playing time, age guidance, and catalogue year are Analog-only data. Current production status is Cadet Games official single-source evidence, checked 2026-10-29; the 2025 interview does not independently establish the 2026 status.

What Cadet Games describes

What only Analog.Games prints

Analog lists 2 players, 240 to 720 minutes, ages 14 and up, and the year 2021. Treat those as Analog’s data. Its structured author field names R.J. Mills; the Players’ Aid interview calls Kevin Talley the main developer. These are distinct role labels, not a demonstrated contradiction. The catalogue year does not prove a release date.

How this differs from the video game

The board project is a turn-based hex simulation of the 1969 battle. The video game is a real-time single-player shooter in a fictional country. The named publishers are Cadet Games and Wesware. No official association was located. Nothing on the Cadet page mentions Wesware, and nothing on the Wesware page mentions Cadet Games.

Questions

Can I buy the Hamburger Hill board game?

Cadet Games says the design is finished and has not been successfully crowdfunded or put into production, and that the photos are prototypes. This page will not list a shop or a price. A 2025 Players’ Aid interview still described an active Gamefound campaign. The Gamefound page itself was behind a check and was not read in full.

Is the 2021 date a release date?

A commercial release in 2021 has not been established. Analog.Games displays 2021 as catalogue metadata; that does not identify when the catalogue entry was created or the game manufactured. BGG entry 332480 was access-restricted and its live year field was not read.

Who designed it?

The 14 April 2025 Players’ Aid interview identifies Kevin Talley as the main developer. Analog.Games names R.J. Mills in its structured author field. Author and developer may be different roles; the full design credits are not resolved here. The restricted Gamefound page was not independently read.
