How to play Hamburger Hill

Hamburger Hill is a single-player military FPS. The store page splits play into a campaign you plan and a Quick Play battle you set up. The official listing advertises “64-player” battles while describing a single-player game. This is not evidence of a 64-person online lobby; the exact player-plus-AI composition has not been independently established. On 2026-10-27 the developer said the current work is single-player and that multiplayer is a later goal.

I read the 0.4.0, 0.5.0, 0.6.0, and 0.7.0 devlogs next to the store description, and checked the public trailer description. These are all Wesware official single-source documents, checked 2026-10-29. I did not launch the build. Where a key is missing from those sources, the gap stays empty. A community guide written against 0.5.0 is labeled as that, because 0.7.0 already moved the interface.

Campaign: plan, equip, fight

The store page describes the campaign as planning, equipping soldiers, and fighting each battle: take ground, hold it against a counterattack, and keep people alive. From 0.4.0 the squad is 12 soldiers who persist between battles, with one assault per turn and automatic replacements. Version 0.3.0 added a click to inspect a soldier’s kit and a right-click to send them back.

Insertion methods named in the devlogs include helicopter insertion (0.2.0) and night assault boats (0.3.0). Extraction in 0.4.0 is a flare that calls the helicopter, then a defense while the aircrew is on the ground. Version 0.7.0 says that helicopter extraction mission was improved. Newspapers, village events, and campaign support show up from 0.4.0 and 0.5.0. None of those posts publish a morale formula. The devlogs do not document where every morale indicator is shown.

Quick Play

Quick Play is one battle with terrain, weather, and an opponent you choose. The store page says battles can involve up to three factions and what it calls 64 players. Version 0.2.0 rebuilt the setup as preset cards plus more battle settings. The same page calls the game single-player. The exact unit cap and how the advertised 64 counts the human player and AI have not been independently verified. The official Procedural Generation tag does not specify which terrain or campaign elements are generated, and does not mean every map is fully random.

Inputs that are actually published

There is no official control card. Do not treat a generic WASD chart as Wesware’s. The 0.6.0 devlog does say the mouse wheel cycles weapons, launchers, melee, and binoculars. A community post about 0.5.0 mentioned the F key for orders and the 3 key for an underbarrel launcher. That post is one player’s notes against an older build. Version 0.2.0 added a voiced drill instructor for weapons training and squad combat, so the build itself is supposed to teach the first fight.

Questions

What are the two modes?

Campaign is plan, equip, then fight each battle while holding ground and people. Quick Play is a single battle you configure. Version 0.2.0 rebuilt Quick Play around preset cards and more battle settings.

How do radio strikes work?

From 0.5.0, radio operators use binoculars to call illumination, artillery, or napalm, with incoming markers. Version 0.7.0 says the binocular support controls were made clearer. The key labels are not in a published control list.

How do I repair a bridge?

The 0.5.0 devlog says an engineer kit covers demolition and bridge repair. A player wrote on 2026-10-28 that they only understood it from a loading tip. The exact key is not in the devlog.

Is there a full keybind list?

Wesware has not published one. The only official input note in the 0.6.0 devlog is the mouse wheel cycling weapons, launchers, melee, and binoculars. Community notes about other keys are single-source and tied to 0.5.0.
